"There are tons of dog out for walks and a dog park or two in our area near Piedmont Ave. All the owners are friendly and most businesses hand out treats for furry visitors. "

"Lots of stores that cater to dog owners, even a few veterinarians. There are puppy treats everywhere and lots of outdoor seating to eat with your pet. "

"Farmers market. The Grand Lake theater is amazing with an incredible sound system. The organ on Friday and Saturday nights is always a pleasure. "

"It’s liveable. I like it a lot. My husband and I have been really happy here. There are few places in the east bay where you can walk to everything you need. This is one of them. "

"It has an eclectic feel, lots of diversity, and beautiful scenery. I like hanging out at the lake for a picnic. It's great during the daytime, but dangerous at night."

"It's diverse, with a good mix of stores, shops, and restaurants. There is any cuisine at any price range you could want. It has a world-class movie theater and some of the best weather in the Bay Area. I like the farmers' market, which occurs every Saturday, rain or shine."

"Plenty of small dog parks in the area. It may be hard to find a dog-friendly landlord, however."

"Grand Lake seems to get better with every year. I’ve lived here for nearly 7 years, and I still feel like I’m in the honeymoon phase. I look forward to coming home (I work n San Francisco), and I feel proud to call Grand Lake my neighborhood."

"As a former resident I must say I miss living there. It is a nice, clean neighborly area. The beautiful Morcom Rose Garden is within walking distance as are the shops on Lakeshore and Grand Avenue."
