"It’s filled with young professionals and families. Artists and makers. Everything is walkable and the perfect balance between trendy and hipster."

"There are many families and dog owners in this area. People are generally friendly and neighborhood is generally quiet on week days. North Park is also within walking distance from Balboa Park, lots of popular restaurants and bars and also the Observatory!!"

"With as many bars and restaurants as there are here, and the parking being horrible like it is, Id still live in this area and I feel safe here. Easy access to freeways and many places to enjoy as well. "

"I’ve lived here for three years and unfortunately the neighborhood had declined considerably since I initially moved in."

"No community, crowded, poor schools, lots of homeless and drug addicts... if you feel those are okay for your kids to grow up in then have fun. I would not raise my children in North Park, no way, no how. It’s more of a college/party vibe. TONS of bars. Plus it’s expensive, no bang for your buck in this area....."

"One of few true neighborhoods left in San Diego. Many small privately owned shops have been here a long time and know customers first names. Very walkable, excellent bus service. "

"There is a lot of dog walkers in our neighborhood and they are all friendly. I walk my dogs twice a day and run into many of the same people with their dogs routinely. Everyone is friendly and my dogs know where everyone lives and want to go see their pups. "

"There are different pockets of NP that are more family-friendly than others. Be careful and visit the neighboring blocks to get a feel if there are more residential, family homes or apartment complexes. There can be a lot of transients in the area, as well, the closer you get to University and 30th. "

"The neighborhood has been up and coming for the last few years. So many new and great restaurants that keep opening. Older homes or run down buildings are slowly being remodeled. Also, lots of new construction."

"No grass at the dog parks and some weird areas when you walk at night. Everyone has dogs so they are dog friendly but not much room to let them run around and play. "

"while there are a lot of families in the neighborhood, who walk their kids to the local school and Morely field, I wouldn't say this is the most kid friendly neighborhood. I've found crack rocks and other paraphernalia on the ground. a lot of parties, homeless etc. I wouldn't leave my kid unattended in the yard like you can out in the burbs."
