"I lived here for 12 years, and now visit as often as i can. It is the nicest neighborhood in the city: abundant parks, Golden Gate views, hiking trails, beautiful houses, very safe and secure without sacrificing the city vibe. Good schools too. The only con is the weather: the closer you are to the ocean, the more fog you get. Property prices are through the roof ;)"

"Great access to public transportation to downtown, but right on walking trails and near beach still living in the city. Flat street, safe for children. Feels like a suburb but we can still walk to the store, and many restaurants."

Lafayette Elementary School

Parent Rating Average
Our child is finishing kindergarten at Lafayette and we love the school! Her teacher has been great and very easy to communicate with. There is a vibrant and active community of parents. The opportunities the kids have, from field trips to the (wonderful) school play, have been amazing. Our kid loves her class, her classmates, and the school. Lafayette wasn't our first choice school in the lottery but it definitely would be now.
