"This neighborhood has many adventures in store for you; there’s the mall right by a light rail station, there are many shopping plazas, as well as many little shops to sample."

"Yes they would like to have pets. Most of my neighbors have dogs and they enjoy walking them at all hours and in a way it brings the community closer together."

"Quiet, slower pace of living compared to some areas of San Jose. Crisp, clean air, open green grass, trees, etc. Very welcoming atmosphere and is open to family culture"

"Hear airplanes and cars all day and night so it's noisy if animals have to be kept outside. A lot of stray dogs get reported. Most landlords don't allow dogs. There are a lot of animal stores so that is convenient. A lot of hone owners do have dogs. Busy streets incase dog gets out of yard. Not a lot of yards with front yard gates."

"A lot of questionable people residing here now. Drugs, homelessness (transient) and crime in general has been on the rise. My parents lived here until 93 and I returned in 2009. It has gone downhill in the last 10 years."

"it is a nice place, just like any other place it has bad parts, for the most part, nice, I have to move, I do not want to move, but I have to, after 5 years here it is hard looking for a place, I love that I was close to the mountains and a walking park"

My family has attended Discovery Charter School 2 Falcon Campus for the last 5 years, and I am very happy with the progressive education my children are receiving!Their teachers have been amazing and are given more freedom to teach students important topics that have been pushed out of today's public classrooms in addition to covering standard core curriculum. They’re able to follow the childrens’ lead for curriculum, and present opportunities to engage in hands-on activities including many field trips. One concern I had about specific academic needs not being met was swiflty addressed and adaptions were made, with the support of teachers and the director.Teachers don’t ignore social and emotional needs in the classroom and really get to know the children holistically. We receive amazing multi-page anecdotal report cards, that demonstrate their knowledge of our children. We also have thoughtfully planned conferences and are able to communicate with the teachers easily.Discovery provides the opportunity to stay with teachers for multiple years (looping). This honors the relationships between teachers, children, and parents, and further supports child development. We’ve been blessed to get to know teachers deeply and develop real relationships. The focus on social-emotional learning is also echoed in the discipline practices at D2. Parents participate in the program, and everyone is on the same page, responding to the children using Positive Discipline techniques. The leadership provided by Miki Walker, our director, is appreciated! She knows the children and what is happening for them, is very responsive to parents and their concerns and works to problem-solve. She listens to her teachers and appears to support them fully. Most of the parents regularly volunteer, and there are a lot of opportunities to engage with the school community. My friendships with fellow parents are strong, and we hang out at school events and beyond. You can really create a village here, something that is so needed in this area in particular. My children are excited to go to school, because their needs are met, not ignored. Learning is fun and curiosity is encouraged. I am excited my children are enjoying their education, as their experiences there will likely result in life-long, engaged learners. I highly recommend you check D2 out!
